Fortier 26 is designed after a class of boats that evolved to meet the needs of fisherman who fished for striped bass along the shores from New Jersey through New England.  The boat is a very stable fishing platform, and it handles short choppy sea conditions very well. In more recent years, it has become a favorite of rockfish (striped bass) fishermen.  The boat’s 10′ beam is considerable for a 26′ boat of this vintage and, combined with the hard chine, provides a very stable deck from which to fish.

USCG licensed master.  Capt. Henry O’Shaughnessy has IMG_1511fished the waters of Cape Cod and

the Elizabeth Islands for over 15 years.  He has been very successful in local tournaments, as well as the Osterville Anglers Club tournaments.  Every year he participates in the On The Water Striper Cup.  He placed top five in the northeast in the junior striped bass division  in 2010 and 2012.  Also captain Henry O has been seen on the cover of On The Water magazine, in both the New England and  New York/New Jersey editions.

Captain’s Favorite

Fishing with live eels down the Elizabeth islands on light tackle has become one of my favorite ways to catch trophy stripers. Meandering through a boulder field along the shoreline is quite a challenge, and it is very rewarding when you pull a trophy striper out of the “mine field”.  It isn’t as easy as it sounds, the fight isn’t over until the fish is on the deck.

Being on a trailer helps us fish north south east and west of the Cape and Islands . We have added spring north side trips for bass, cod and Haddock to our trips.
